Well, here is a quick blog on what happened today – a small incident which touched me.
Pari was crying today when I was leaving for office and kept saying “ Papa Jaani Hai” which meant “I want to go with Papa”. When I stepped out to get into my car, she came out with Pooja and kept wailing. Just to keep her happy, I asked and beckoned her to come inside the car. I meant to do this for a little while and then move after handing her back to Pooja. Initially, she did not come in and held Pooja’s hand pulling on it and asking her to come in as well, saying “Mummy Chalo”. After trying for a few secondsin vain, she relented, stepped in the car alone and sat on the front seat next to me. She said, “Bye Mummy, Pari ko Bye bolo” and it meant “Say Bye to me”. The immense glee was showing in her eyes, sparkling with happiness and excitement.
Then I realized in a minute or two, that I still had to go to work and leave her home. I asked Pooja to take her back and told Pari, “Wear New New Cinderella dress and come with Papa”. Pooja took her back in her arms, cajoled her and said “Chalo Cinderella dress pehenke papa ke saath chalte hain!” which meant, “Come lets wear the new Cinderella dress and go out with Papa”. The moment the duo stepped inside, I got the car into ignition, changed the gear and pressed down on the accelerator.
Once I got on my way, within 5mins I got a call from Pooja. I could hear Pari in the background saying “Mummy, Cinderella pehna do, Papa Jaani hai” which meant “Mummy, I want to wear the Cinderella dress and then go with Papa”. She was still crying, unaware that her Papa was already driving the car and on his way to work.
I was touched….My little Cinderella waiting for the elusive ride with her Papa…Miss her so much sometimes.
More soon.
Regards,
VJ
