Missing my baby!

I am writing this blog from Dubai. Today is Wednesday, 11th August and I have been away from home since the past 16 days working here on a Process Re-Engg assignment. I will be here for another 3 weeks at least before I return back home.

Since Pari’s birth, this is the first time I have been away from home for more than 15 days. I miss her a lot and I am not sure today if I can put all of my feelings into words. Sometimes, I see her playing when I close my eyes at night trying to sleep. The next thing I then do is to pick up my mobile and listen to her recordings on the phone – “Toote, Toote”, “Lakdi Ki Kaathi” etc. For other times when I think about her, I have other audio-visual tools like her uploaded videos on Youtube. I also talk to Pooja everyday and get an update of how she is doing.

The pictures on this blog have been clicked and sent by Pooja through the I-phone during the period of my stay here so far. While I have several of these photos, the ones posted here are my favorites. At times in office or at the hotel, I take a look at them for a quick few seconds, smile and loving think about my Pari for a fleeting moment. After that glimpse, I go about conducting my business at that time. The snap with the cat is amazing, especially since Pari’s sideways glance makes her look cute and vulnerable, just like the cat which looks so delicate and cuddly too. They both look delicately endearing, and you just feel like giving them both a warm and big hug! Pari looks like as if she would suddenly change her sideways glance and look at me in my eyes, directly and smile.

Looking forward to going back to India to play and laugh with Pari, my darling daughter!

About Dubai - Dubai is a hot place right now - 47 degrees in the day and 42 degrees at night; although it’s a/c everywhere - in buses, metro trains, hotels, office, malls and even bus stops! Infrastructure is fabulous – our hotel room is on 42nd floor from where we can see the Palm Jumeira embossed upon the sea. Our office cabin on the 22nd floor gives a view of Burj Al Arab and a very faint but visible Burj Khalifa – the tallest building in the world! I have not begun any major shopping yet – have just gone to a few malls and two pubs in Bur Dubai. Maybe this coming weekend should be good!

Ramadan starts here today – so Ramadan Kareem!

Cheers,
VJ
